Never Miss a Scan: How Geofence Alerts Work
Set a safe zone for your most valuable items. Get an instant alert the moment your bag, bike, or laptop leaves the area.
Most people use QrioTag reactively: they lose something, mark it lost, and wait for a finder. Geofence Alerts let you be proactive.
What Is a Geofence?
A geofence is a virtual boundary around a real-world location — your home, your office, your car park. When someone scans your tagged item outside that boundary, you get an instant notification.
Setting Up a Geofence
1. Open any tag's detail page in your dashboard.
2. Scroll to the Geofence section.
3. Enter the latitude/longitude of your safe zone center.
4. Set the radius in kilometers — 0.5 km for a small area, 5 km for a wider zone.
5. Save. Geofencing is now active for that tag.

Privacy Note
Geofence checks only happen at scan time, using location data provided by the scanner's device. QrioTag does not actively track your item's location between scans.
